  About the Institution
The University of Lincoln is home to a growing community of students from around the world. Since Queen Elizabeth II opened the first University of Lincoln building on the Brayford Pool Campus, it has welcomed more than 90,000 students from across 135 countries. Lincoln International College
The International College provides a range of degree preparation programmes to help students from outside of the UK to prepare for, and qualify for entry to, the University of Lincoln. Degree preparation programmes are designed to help students to develop the English language, academic study skills, and subject-specific knowledge required for degree-level study.

After successfully completing a degree preparation programme and obtaining the required pass mark, students will be able to progress onto a wide range of University of Lincoln undergraduate or postgraduate degree programmes.

University of Lincoln students have the opportunity to live and study in one of the world’s great historic cities renowned for its fusion of old and new. Lincoln’s Roman and medieval heritage blends together seamlessly with modern city living and the University’s main campus is situated in the heart of the thriving city centre on the Brayford Pool waterfront.

Lincoln is a compact and friendly place to live and study. Almost everything students need, from bespoke accommodation, to shops, bars and restaurants, is just a short walk from campus. Situated in the East Midlands region of England, Lincoln’s central location provides a great starting point to explore the UK. Lincoln Central Railway Station is in the city centre, just a few minutes' walk from the University of Lincoln's Brayford Pool Campus. The University of Lincoln prides itself on helping students achieve excellent career prospects, offering a number of different career services to help them prepare for their future. More than 100 programmes offer students the opportunity to take part in a work placement, or professional practice year. A wide variety of undergraduate programmes also include the opportunity to spend a period of time studying abroad at a partner institution.

The University has a number of mechanisms and support tools to further enhance graduates’ employability. With bespoke and in-depth expertise and knowledge of the graduate labour market, the Careers and Employability Team offers one-to-one support and careers guidance to help students find the right path, as well as CV and interview preparation advice. The team works closely with local, national, and international employers, and advertises a range of graduate positions, helping students on their journey into the world of work.

In 2021, the University of Lincoln was named among the top 10 best universities in the UK for Graduate Start-Up Businesses. Students who are interested in setting up their own business can take advantage of the University’s business incubation centre, Sparkhouse. The centre acts as a professional link between the University and the local business community. The dedicated Business Incubation Team also provides a mentoring service, advice on business planning, funding, finance, and market research to help you plan, launch, and grow your new business.

What are Chevening Scholarships?
Chevening is the UK government’s international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders. Funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations, Chevening offers two types of award – Chevening Scholarships and Chevening Fellowships – the recipients of which are personally selected by British Embassies and High Commissions throughout the world.

The Global Postgraduate Scholarship is valued at £1,000 and will be awarded to eligible students as a tuition fee discount in the first year of their studies.

Selection Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have been awarded, or be expected to receive, one of the following qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution with a minimum grade of 2:2 or equivalent.
A Pre-Masters qualification from a recognised institution with a grade comparable to a 2:2.
A Master’s degree from a recognised institution with a merit grade or equivalent.

Who is it for?
The University of Lincoln’s China Scholarship is designed to help students from across mainland China to access postgraduate level study at the University of Lincoln. The China Scholarship is offered as a tuition fee discount against the cost of a postgraduate taught programme commencing in the 2024/25 academic year.

Scholarship Amount
The China Scholarship is valued at £5,000 and will be awarded to eligible students as a tuition fee discount during the first year of their studies.

Selection Criteria
In order to be eligible to receive the China Scholarship, prospective students must meet the following criteria:
Be a national of, or have permanent residence in, mainland China.
Hold a Conditional or Unconditional Offer from the University of Lincoln for a full-time postgraduate taught programme commencing in September 2024 or January 2025.
Have completed a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent qualification that leads to postgraduate study) from a recognised institution, and have obtained a minimum of a 2:1 classification (or an equivalent).

(8) The Global Leaders Scholarship

The Global Leaders Scholarship is designed to recognise the achievements and potential of international students joining the University of Lincoln in September 2024 or January 2025.

Who is it for?
The Global Leaders Scholarship is designed to recognise achievements and future potential. The scholarship has been established to recognise international applicants who can demonstrate the highest levels of academic, personal, or extracurricular endeavour. The Global Leaders Scholarship is valued at 50% of tuition fees for one year of study.

Eligibility
The Global Leaders Scholarship is competitive. In order to apply for the scholarship, students must have an offer from the University of Lincoln for an undergraduate programme, or postgraduate taught programme, commencing in September 2024 or January 2025. Please note that this scholarship is not available to students with home fee status.

Students who are in the process of completing their studies at the time of submitting a scholarship application will need to provide us with their most recent academic transcripts.
For an undergraduate programme, the transcripts should have grades that are equivalent to 128 UCAS points or above, so we can accurately assess the student’s academic potential. For a postgraduate taught programme, the transcripts should have grades equivalent of a 2:1 or higher.

For a programme of study commencing in September 2024:
Round 1: Friday 1 December 2023
Round 2: Friday 1 March 2024
Round 3: Saturday 1 June 2024

For a programme of study commencing in January 2025:
Round 1: Tuesday 1 October 2024

(9) Nigeria Scholarship

The University of Lincoln’s Nigeria Scholarship is aimed at supporting postgraduate taught students from across Nigeria.

Who is it for?
The University of Lincoln is aware of the challenges the fluctuation in the exchange rate presents for students from Nigeria who are considering studying in the UK. To help support as many students as possible to continue with their study ambitions we are delighted to announce the launch of the Nigeria Scholarship.

The University of Lincoln’s Nigeria Scholarship is designed to help students from Nigeria to access postgraduate level study at Lincoln. The Nigeria Scholarship is offered as a tuition fee discount against the cost of a postgraduate taught programme commencing in the 2024/25 academic year.

Scholarship Amount
The Nigeria Scholarship award is worth:
£5,000 if you have a 2.1 or above in your Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent
£4,000 if you have a 2.2 or above in your Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent
The scholarship will be awarded to eligible students as a tuition fee discount during the first year of their studies.

(10) South Asia Scholarship

The University of Lincoln’s South Asia Scholarship is aimed at supporting postgraduate taught students from across Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Who is it for?
The University of Lincoln’s South Asia Scholarship is designed to help students from across Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka to access postgraduate level study at the University of Lincoln. The South Asia Scholarship is offered as a tuition fee discount against the cost of a postgraduate taught programme commencing in the 2024/25 academic year.

Scholarship Amount
The South Asia Scholarship is valued at £3,000 and will be awarded to eligible students as a tuition fee discount during the first year of their studies.

Selection Criteria
In order to be eligible to receive the South Asia Scholarship, prospective students must meet the following criteria:
