City, University of London's campus is located in Islington. It is less than 2km away from many famous London landmarks, like St. Paul’s Cathedral, The British Museum and the River Thames.

  Student Life
The University has dedicated International Student Advisors, based within the Student Centre, who are available to offer advice and assistance to all international students who are studying, or thinking of studying, at City, University of London. There are special welcome events for international students at the beginning of term as well as induction and orientation events organised by Schools and Departments. The Students’ Union has a range of international student societies which hold social events throughout the year.

All six City, University of London halls of residence are within walking distance of the University, with computer and telephone points in each bedroom. Accommodation is guaranteed for first year undergraduate students, while private rented accommodation is easily found near the University and around London. The Accommodation Team also maintain an online facility to search for privately rented accommodation in London.

  Scholarships
(1) Bayes Business School International Scholarship
Scholarship amount £6,125
This scholarship is for students who achieve outstanding grades in the international qualifications accepted by the Business School and who exceed the requirements of their offer.

Bayes Business School is offering a scholarship worth 25% of the first year tuition fees to International students paying overseas fees and starting a Business School undergraduate course from Year 1 in September 2024. The scholarship will be awarded as a discount to the fee amount due in the first year of their study only.

The scholarship is for students who achieve exceptional grades in the international qualifications accepted by Bayes Business School and their final grades must surpass the advertised academic entry criteria for the course and their offer requirements.

Eligibility criteria
There are 20 of these scholarships available and to qualify for the Bayes Business School International Scholarship for the 2024/5 academic year, you must meet the following conditions in full:

Be a student expecting to pay Overseas fees; and

Be a student taking a qualification other than A Levels, International Baccalaureate Diploma, or BTEC; and

Be in your first year of undergraduate study in 2024/5; and

Starting in year 1 of your degree at Bayes Business School of City, University of London, from September 2024; and

Be expected to achieve academic grades that exceed the conditions of your offer and the advertised academic criteria; and

Make City your Firm choice, either as Conditional Firm (CF) or Unconditional Firm (UF).

Value of the scholarship
The value of the Scholarship in 2024/5 will be £6,125 for each student who is awarded this scholarship for Year 1 only.


(2) Chevening Scholarship
Academic Year 2024
This scholarship is awarded to outstanding scholars with leadership potential. Awards are typically made for a one-year master's degree.

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government's global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations.

The scheme is aimed at developing global leaders and is made up of two types of award: Chevening Scholarships and Chevening Fellowships. The recipients are personally selected by British embassies and high commissions throughout the world.

Chevening offers a unique opportunity for future leaders and influencers from all over the world to develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.

Who can apply for a Chevening Scholarship?
Chevening Scholarships are for talented people who have been identified as potential future leaders across a wide range of fields; including politics, business, the media, civil society, religion and academia.

Applicants should be high calibre graduates with the personal, intellectual and interpersonal qualities necessary for leadership.

Candidates for the scholarship come from over 110 countries worldwide (excluding the USA and the EU) and this year the Scholarships will support over 600 individuals. There are over 42,000 Chevening alumni around the world who together comprise an influential and highly regarded global network.

What does the scholarship cover?
Most Chevening Scholarships cover:

Tuition fees

A living allowance at a set rate (for one individual)

An economy class return airfare to the UK

Additional grants to cover essential expenditure.

Some Scholarships cover part of the cost of studying in the UK; for example, tuition fees only or allowances only.


(3) Computer Science and Engineering Scholarship
Scholarship amount £2,000
Scholarships worth £2,000 are offered to outstanding postgraduate international students, who are applying for a course in Computer Science or Engineering.

Scholarships are available for outstanding international postgraduate students, starting on one of our Computer Science or Engineering Master's programmes. Applicants are considered automatically at the time of application.

The scholarship will be offered to well-qualified international applicants wishing to take up a place on any of the postgraduate programmes listed below starting in September 2024. The scholarships, each valued at £2,000, are intended to assist towards the tuition fees.

Criteria
You must hold or will achieve a UK institution or Overseas equivalent degree with a classification that is higher than the minimum entry requirement for the programme.

Assessments will be made on your motivation for applying for the Master’s programme and your professional vision, as demonstrated in the personal statement and supporting documents submitted with the Master’s programme application.

Terms and conditions
The following terms and conditions relate to the School's postgraduate scholarships for International applicants :

The scholarship will take the form of a fee-waiver applied against the last payable instalment in any year.

The scholarship is worth £2,000 for full-time students or £1,000 per annum for two years for part-time students.

Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Programme Directors.

Scholarships are only available to students paying the full fee on one of the participating courses.

The scholarship is intended to assist the student to meet the cost of the course fee and will be deducted from the fees charged to the student or the student's sponsor.

The scholarship will not be recorded on the degree certificate from the Institute. However, references for students who have successfully completed the course may refer to the scholarship.

The scholarship may not be transferred to a different course in the institution from the one you have been awarded the scholarship for.

Students repeating a postgraduate course at City, University of London will not be eligible for a scholarship. Students granted mitigating circumstances by the Institution will be considered on an individual basis.

Applicants will only be considered once and cannot be re-considered if unsuccessful.


(4) INTO Academic Achievement International Foundation Progression Scholarship
Scholarship amount £3,000
This scholarship is one of a number available to students studying with INTO City, University of London on a foundation pathway. It's awarded for outstanding achievement ahead of progression to an undergraduate degree.

A total of 15 scholarships are available, worth £3,000 each. These are awarded to the highest performing students on the International Foundation Programme before progressing to an undergraduate course at City. The scholarships are split across four of City’s academic schools as follows:

Six available for students progressing to the Bayes Business School

One available for students progression to the School of Communication & Creativity

Two available for students progression to the School of Policy & Global Affairs

Three available for students progressing to the School of Science & Technology

Two available for students progressing to the City Law School

One available for students progressing to the School of Health & Psychological Sciences.

How does the scholarship work?
There is no application process for these scholarships. They are awarded on the basis of academic performance.

Students will be considered based upon the grades achieved in their International Foundation Programme.

The scholarship is awarded in the form of a tuition fee discount to your undergraduate course at City, once you successfully progress

The scholarship is only available to international fee payers when progressing to City

The scholarship can’t be used along with any of City’s other scholarships.


(5) Kaplan Foundation Certificate Excellence Scholarship
Scholarship amount £3,000
City's partnership with Kaplan International College London includes the offer of £3,000 scholarships for the highest-performing foundation programme students.

Fourteen scholarships, worth £3,000 each, will be awarded to the highest performing Kaplan International College London Foundation Certificate students upon progression into an undergraduate course at City. The scholarships will be split across City’s academic schools as follows:

Eight available for students progressing to the Bayes Business School.

One available for students progressing to the School of Communication & Creativity.

One available for students progressing to the School of Policy & Global Affairs.

One available for students progressing to the City Law School.

Three available for students progressing to the School of Science & Technology.

Who can apply for a scholarship?
There is no application process for these scholarships. They are awarded on the basis of academic performance.

Students will be considered based upon the grades achieved in their Foundation Certificate.

Scholarships are awarded in the form of a tuition fee discount, once you successfully progress to City from your Kaplan International College London programme.

Scholarships are only available to International fee payers when progressing to City and can’t be used with any other City’s scholarships available.
