  About the Institution
St Francis Xavier University is a higher education establishment in Nova Scotia, Canada. It is a public liberal arts institution that mostly provides undergraduate courses. However, several postgraduate options are also available.

The facility is part of the Maple League group - a selection of universities in Eastern Canada. It is one of the oldest and most well-known higher-education centres in Canada. In addition, the university has a good reputation for developing academic and personal skills students in a friendly environment.

  Location
The St Francis Xavier campus is located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Just a 15-minute drive away, students can reach the ocean or the surrounding hills and mountains, and there are plenty of local hikes and biking routes. Furthermore, students have a strong and historic link with the local town of Antigonish. As a result, students often integrate into the community and participate in or spectate local events, such as the Highland Games. Many attendees also head into Antigonish between studies for meals and cafes for some downtime.

  Student Life
The St Francis Xavier student union provides a student-led organisation that sets up events, support and activities on campus. Also, the union has an active newspaper, The Xaverian Weekly, which keeps students informed on events and news. In addition, life in student halls is very active and sociable, where students can meet peers and coursemates in an informal environment.

A variety of leisure spaces and exercise centres are also on campus. Some additional facilities where students meet include five restaurants, a pub, a gym, an ice rink, Starbucks and an on-campus bookstore.

To help students become part of the community at St Francis Xavier, 90% of the first-year students live on campus. 50% of the students reside in the university halls. In addition, the university has traditional houses and halls where students can become part of a residential society. On campus, students have avarious housing options These include single, shared and apartment-style accommodations. Furthermore, the university support staff can help to find off-campus housing if necessary.
