  About the Institution
Massey University was created in 1927 when the agricultural colleges of Victoria University College and Auckland University College were merged. Massey Agricultural College was named after former New Zealand Prime Minister William Fergusson Massey. In 1963 it merged with Palmerston North University College to become Massey University.

It has campuses in Palmerston North, Albany, and Wellington and has over 30,000 students, including over 5,000 international students from 100 countries. Massey University is ranked in the top 300 global universities in the QS World University Rankings and has a QS 5 Stars rating.

The facilities at Massey University are built to support students in every way. Massey University has several libraries across its campuses that provide access to various resources, including books, journals, and databases. It is the only university in New Zealand with a dedicated airfield where you can fly single- and twin-engine planes. Several laboratories are available for student use. The Sports and Recreation Centre contains a fitness centre, multi-use sports hall, climbing wall, squash courts, rugby and soccer fields, an athletics track, and Massey University Equestrian Centre.

Over 200 student clubs in various disciplines can be found across the campus so students can join cultural, political, or social societies.

Massey University is academically proficient: its agricultural, animal, and veterinary science programmes are among the top 50 in the world. It is also internationally recognised for its food science and technology programmes. It has one of the largest business schools in the country and is the only university-based aviation school in New Zealand, so it has a lot to offer students.
