  About the Institution
The Unitec Institute of Technology is New Zealand’s largest institute of technology. Located in Auckland, the institution offers a vast range of work-oriented undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and short courses.

Around 18,000 students from over 70 countries around the world study at the Unitec Institute of Technology. Staff working at the Unitec Institute of Technology are from a diverse range of backgrounds and there are student support services to enrich the international student experience.

The Unitec Institute of Technology proudly presents a diverse array of facilities to support the overall student experience. Notably, students can access childcare services such as the Unitec Early Learning Centre on its Mt Albert campus. There is also a medical centre offering health and wellness services to students, an osteopathy clinic and a prayer centre.

A range of library and study spaces, technology facilities, laboratories and classrooms are available for students to utilise to enhance their learning experience.

The Unitec Institute of Technology is located in Auckland. Auckland is a vibrant area in New Zealand based around 2 harbours that can be seen from the infamous Sky Tower attraction. More views can be seen at the scenic One Tree Hill or by the Auckland Harbour Bridge, with the Auckland Art Gallery showcasing the artistic talent of the city.

  Student Life
Student life at The Unitec Institute of Technology can be a varied and integrative experience. There is an ethos of inclusivity demonstrated in the presence of Student Support Advisors, the Ally Network that works to promote awareness of LGBTQ students and staff, counselling services and other opportunities for students to share their voice.

There are a range of clubs and societies on campus. There are cultural groups for international students such as the Unitec Chinese Student Association (UCSA), sports clubs including squash and ‘tramping’ (walks and mountaineering), and even a book club. Both campuses are 100% smoke-free.

Both on and off campus accommodation options are available to students at the Unitec Institute of Technology. There is a range of first-rate services available to students living on campus, with the visually arresting Te Noho Kotahitanga Marae situated at the centre of Mt Albert campus. If you want to live off campus, it costs approximately NZ$130 to NZ$200 per week to rent a room in a shared house. The Student Residential Village is a fantastic option if you want to live in a prime location close to the Unitec campus. Nearby suburbs and temporary housing are also options available to international students.
