London South Bank University was founded in 1892 and officially gained full university status in 1992. Practical education and employability are strongly focused at the University, with its central London location providing close links to business and industry. London South Bank University's main campus is in Southwark on the South Bank of the Thames, a short walk from many of London's major landmarks. Waterloo and London Bridge are the nearest stations, and strong transport links mean that the culture and nightlife of central London are very easy to reach and be a part of.

  Student Life
London South Bank University provides extensive support before arrival, including an airport collection for international students from Heathrow Airport. The university also holds an international orientation at the beginning of the term to make students feel at home and comfortable. London South Bank University has a continuous Health Service centre that maintains and promotes health and safety for all its students.

Student accommodation at London South Bank has been ranked fifth nationally and the best in London by the 'Whatuni Student Rankings 2015'. It has four halls of residence which provide almost 1,400 beds, and international students are guaranteed accommodation as long as the application is received by the required deadline. The Accommodation Service can also assist students in finding private rented accommodation in and around London.

(1) Scholarship Name BUTEX International Scholarship
Scholarship amount - £500
As a BUTEX affiliated university we are able to offer you the opportunity to apply for the £500 BUTEX International Scholarship. The Scholarship is open to all International (non-EU) Study Abroad students who are not funded by an ERASMUS grant. To be eligible to apply you must have been offered a study abroad place here. The deadline for applying for this scholarship is mid-June every year.

(2) Scholarship Name International Merit Scholarships
Scholarship amount - £3,000

LSBU values the academic contribution that international students bring to the University. Through the International Merit Scholarship, LSBU aims to recognise and reward exceptional talent enabling academically strong candidates to take their studies to the next level with us.

The International Merit Scholarship offers students pursuing taught programmes with outstanding academic profiles a fee reduction of £3,000.

Eligibility
To be eligible for an International Merit Scholarship, you must:

Hold a valid unconditional and current offer of a place for a full-time taught undergraduate degree or postgraduate taught degree programme beginning in September 2023 or January 2024.

Be classified as an Overseas Student for fee paying purposes. The programme must be a minimum of one year in duration and taught at LSBU.

All decisions are made by the scholarship panel and are final.

Terms and Conditions
To be eligible for a London South Bank University (LSBU) International Merit Scholarship the student must:

Hold a valid and current offer of a place for a full time taught undergraduate degree or taught postgraduate degree programme beginning in September 2023 or January 2024.

Have achieved the scholarship’s academic pre-requisites in the qualification being considered for entry, according to the Appendix below.

Be classified as an Overseas student at enrolment stage. The programme must be a minimum of one year in duration and taught by LSBU.

Be a self-funding student who is not in receipt of any other official sponsorship.

Pay the required tuition fee deposit by the specified deadline, if applicable.

(3) Scholarship Name The Global Success Scholarship
Scholarship amount - £4,000
The Global Success Scholarship, is worth up to £4,000 and awarded to international students to provide them a springboard to kickstart their global career at LSBU, meaning the practical career-focussed courses provide even greater value.

This range of awards varies by subject area at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate level.

Building, Surveying, Construction, Planning

Sport Science, Forensic Science, Baking

Criminology, Sociology, Politics

Postgraduate awards
£2,000 will be awarded for:

(4) Scholarship Name The Vice-Chancellor’s International Merit Award
Scholarship amount - £2,000

The Vice Chancellor’s International Merit Award recognises outstanding academic achievement of students obtaining grades equivalent to AAB and above at UK A-level (approximately 75% or above in other international school leaving certificates) and comprises an award of £2,000 for each academic year.

The awards allow students to fast track their student visa to enable them to start their studies on time.

(5) Scholarship Name Tortuga Study Abroad Scholarship
Scholarship amount - $1,000
The Tortuga Study Abroad Scholarship is awarded biannually to passionate students who want to explore the world.
