Waterford is Ireland’s oldest city, with ancient walls and scenic walks in abundance. It contains an award-winning UNESCO Geopark along the coastline of Waterford and was granted the title of Ireland’s cleanest city with no pollution or traffic problems. It is known for being a safe and student-focused city, small enough in size to allow easy travel and yet accessible enough by train to Ireland’s capital city of Dublin. The?Office for International Relations offers an Orientation Programme for all new international students who arrive at SETU Waterford each academic year, featuring student ambassadors and orientation events where lifelong friends can be made.

At South East Technological University (SETU), a variety of accommodation options are offered to international students. Accommodation at the college campus consists of 66 single en-suite rooms, equipped with modern amenities like Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, resident parking, CCTV surveillance, 24 hour security and common areas. SETU collaborates with local housing providers to offer off-campus housing alternatives and the university's international student services team assists students in finding suitable housing options in the nearby area. City campus accommodation is situated only 15 minutes away for students who prefer a more independent living environment, with 94 apartments and 360 bed spaces.
