  About the Institution
Acadia University is a Canadian higher education establishment in Nova Scotia, Canada. It is one of the most respected universities in Canada and has a well-known national and global reputation. Acadia was founded in 1838, and it is one of the oldest Canadian universities. Today it offers over 200 courses at undergraduate or postgraduate levels.

Currently, 3,574 students attend Acadia and come from a range of backgrounds. Students come from almost every Canadian province to study at universities. International students are also well represented from over 60 countries. The university provides a complete learning experience through experiential learning, community engagement, research and innovation.

At Acadia University, students can utilise academic and leisure facilities. The institution has modern classrooms and learning facilities. Each classroom has state-of-the-art technology including data projectors, flat screens, and high-speed wired and wireless internet access to support learning. In addition, the on-campus dining hall gives students plenty of food purchase options in between classes.

Students at Acadia can also use the high-quality sports and exercise facilities on-site. Available sports facilities include an all-weather athletics area, ice rink, gymnasium, workout equipment and a high-performance training centre.

  Location
Acadia is just a one-hour drive from Halifax, Nova Scotia. The closest town to the campus is Wolfville, which overlooks the Annapolis Valley and the Bay of Fundy. Wolfville is a small university town and students comprise around 50% of the entire town’s population. As a result, many current and former students find work, volunteering opportunities and leisure activities in Wolfville.

Between studies, students will also find plenty of things to do in Wolfville. The town has over 20 restaurants, bars and cafes. There are also five local farm markets which provide produce from nearby farms. Students can also integrate into the community by visiting one of the many festivals each year. The Deep Roots Music Festival and Devour: The Food Film Fest are just some of the festivals in Wolfville.

  Student Life
All students will find a nurturing community at Acadia. The university has students from a vast range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Everyone is encouraged to share their experiences in and outside of class.

Extracurricular and campus programs are also provided at Acadia to expand students’ learning opportunities. Furthermore, students are encouraged to participate in university life and culture to develop their teamwork and leadership skills. As a result, hundreds of volunteering opportunities are available, and students can sign up for one of the 11 varsity sports teams or 15 athletics clubs. Alternatively, more than 80 student-run clubs and societies provide extracurricular exploration for students.

Acadia has on-campus housing for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Rooms include furniture, heat, power, water, local phone service, internet, laundry and 24-hour security. Also, the university has specific housing that can cater for students with disabilities. Overall, Acadia has 11 different accommodation options, all of which are located on the main campus.
