  About the Institution
The University of the Pacific is a private Methodist-affiliated university with its main campus in Stockton, California, and graduate campuses in San Francisco and Sacramento. Founded in 1851, it is the oldest chartered University in California.

Over 6000 students have enrolled at the University of the Pacific annually, with around 470 international students making up the student body.

Students can access helpful resources from the three libraries on its Stockton campus. The William Knox Holt Memorial Library, the Health Sciences Library, and the Arthur A. Similarly, arts programs are supported by various arts facilities, including the Raymond Great Hall, the Faye Spanos Concert Hall, and the Jeannette Powell Art Center. The Stockton campus also has a tall rock-climbing tower.

Stockton is a great place to enjoy student life. The city is situated in sunny California, on the San Joaquin River in California’s Central Valley. Fellow students surround you, and the area is known for providing many different kinds of entertainment, from the distinctive Japanese Garden at Micke Grove Park to the Mexican Heritage Center. Plenty of pubs, bars, and nightclubs help the nightlife earn its reputation for being a top student night out. The Micke Groove Zoo and Disc Golf Park provide wholesome entertainment for group friend outings in the Californian sunshine. Stockton has a low cost of living, making it budget-friendly to live off campus in the latter years of University.

Famous music artists perform on campus throughout the year. Students run around 150 student clubs that reflect a range of interests, and there are 12 sports clubs to ensure something for everyone. The center for identity and inclusion offers resources and support networks to people from different backgrounds, amplifying the integrative focus of the diverse campus community. The Pacific Tigers compete in NCAA Division I athletics, so many students support their local team by cheering them on at regular games. Introverted students might like to browse the literary selection at the campus bookstore and spend alone time in the library. People from all walks of life find a home at the University of the Pacific.

The University of the Pacific provides housing options for its Stockton campus that cater to individual preferences. The four residence halls on campus each include double and triple occupancy rooms, shared lounges, community bathrooms, study rooms, and more. Multiple suite-style buildings suit students seeking to enjoy kitchenettes and common areas. Some students opt for apartments on campus instead, featuring a range of occupancy rooms, a shared living room, a bathroom, and a kitchen. This arrangement is fully furnished, and all bills are included in the price.
