  About the Institution
Lipscomb University is a private university in Nashville, Tennessee. It is affiliated with the Churches of Christ. The Christian University offers over 200 programs of study, from arts to engineering, with small class sizes to emphasize individual learning.

Students from over 50 countries travel to study at the institution, with 112 international students enrolling each year. Despite being affiliated with Christianity, people of different faiths come to look at Lipscomb University.

The main academic building on campus is John C. Hutcheson Hall, with various academic departments and study spaces available. The George Shinn Event Center is a 5,000 seat arena with a gym and multiple athletic facilities for sporting events, concerts and conferences. The University’s basketball and volleyball teams mostly play in Allen Arena: an indoor venue situated on campus. The Ezell Center contains administrative offices, event spaces and classrooms, and the Bennett Campus Center. The Beaman Library is the main library facility on campus, with more than 300,000 volumes and several computer labs available. The University also offers a Health Sciences Simulation Center to students in the College of Health Sciences and the College of Pharmacy to practice their clinical skills.

  Location
Nashville is an area of Tennessee famous for country music and bluegrass tunes, Southern soul food and earning the nickname ‘Music City’. Nashville is a fun destination for students as they are in the company of people their age, with opportunities to embrace the city’s history via visiting the National Museum of African American Music or the Frist Art Museum. Robert’s Western World is a bar where various acts often play live music, and a fried bologna sandwich is a local delicacy. The Honky Tonk Highway is a must-do destination for a Nashville bar crawl if students like to indulge in some nightlife, or there are many American diners to visit if students want to feel like they are living in a movie.

  Student Life
Lipscomb University wants campus life to feel like students are a part of one big family. Personal and spiritual growth is encouraged through special events and student clubs, or by volunteering in the Nashville community. There are over 100 student clubs representing various interests. Intramural sports and honor societies are great ways to get involved in group activities, and the kind of organized fun University life promises to students. Social clubs include the Christian fellowship and the Leadership development club, which allow students to connect on campus and form lifelong friendships. Students are invited to gather twice a week to worship as part of the core thread of spirituality that runs through the campus.

Lipscomb University accommodation gives students plenty of on-campus housing options. There is one women’s only residence hall: Fanning Hall, with a 150 student capacity. The rest of the co-ed halls house approximately 200 students, except for High Rise residence hall, the tallest building on campus. It has twelve floors and can accommodate up to 500 students. Most first-year students live on campus as it allows them to meet like-minded students and learn how to use communal facilities.

There are also apartment complexes for graduate students and those in the latter years of University, such as Bison Square, Bison Hall, and University Apartments. The Honors House and Health and Wellness House are themed residence halls students can opt for if they are enrolled in the honors program or are interested in health and wellness.
