  About the Institution
Leeds Beckett University is one of the most popular universities in the UK with a history dating back almost 200 years. More than 150 un­dergraduate and 190 postgraduate courses are offered, as well as foundation and pre-sessional English programmes. The University aims to give students a top-quality learning experience and state-of-the-art facilities are one of the many reasons why more than 24,000 stu­dents study at their two Leeds based campuses.

The University places a strong focus on employability after graduation and all courses include at least two weeks of work-related learning per year. Work placements are encouraged and very popular, with nearly half of all students taking a sandwich course. Leeds' stated aims are to have every graduate enterprising, digitally literate and with a global outlook.

Leeds Beckett University has nine teaching fellows and seven prestigious Higher Education Academy national teacher fellows. Following the most recent National Student Survey, student satisfaction at the school is 85%. In addition, 93.7% of Leeds Beckett graduates are in work or further study six months.

Located in the centre of the United Kingdom, Leeds is one of the best cities in the UK to live and study as an international student and the city is perfectly placed so you can easily travel to other parts of the UK and Europe. Leeds Bradford and Manchester are the closest airports to Leeds Beckett University, with British Airways offering a connecting service between London and the north for international students.

Leeds has the largest finance and legal district in the UK out­side of London and with such easy access to the UK capital, many large organisations locate their offices in the city. With plenty of nightspots, bars and cafes, Leeds is a student friendly city with many events geared towards the 60,000 stu­dents that reside in the city.

  Student Life
Leeds Beckett University provides an English programme for international and EU students. It offers support with Academic English and study skills as well as adaptation to the British university system and general life in Britain, and is available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. ECIS is divided into month-long short-courses of two hours per week, and includes classes on essay writing, note taking, lectures and general study skills alongside language skills. All students enrolled on the programme can also take part in one-to-one tutorials with a tutor.

A meet and greet service is offered for new international student arrivals at Leeds Bradford airport and Leeds train station.

Leeds Beckett University has over 4,500 bedrooms available across a wide range of accommodation blocks. Students have the option of living either in Headingley or the city centre, no more than five miles from the nearest campus. En suite rooms and studio apartments are available. The accommodation office can also help students who wish to rent private accommodation in and around Leeds.

(2) Scholarship Name Carnegie Sports Scholarship
Scholarship amount - £6,000
Nationality International
To qualify for the Carnegie Sports Scholarship, applicants must not only showcase exceptional sporting achievements but also embody the core values of Leeds Beckett University. Recipients are expected to represent the university in British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) events, contributing to the vibrant and competitive sporting community we foster.

Successful undergraduate recipients will receive a £6,000 annual scholarship. Postgraduate recipients will receive a 50% discount on postgraduate taught fees.

American Football
Must meet one of the following criteria:

Non- GB adult programme member.

Extensive experience and high performance levels in European leagues.

Extensive experience and high performance levels in North American leagues/divisions.

Football
Must meet one or more of the following criteria:

Men

Be a regular contributor to a 1st team squad in Step 4 or above of the FA's National League pyramid OR equivalent home nation league experience.

Have been part of a football academy at a club within Step 2 or above of the FA's National League pyramid and received an academy scholarship until U18.

Senior or age group international.

Women

Be a regular contributor to a 1st team squad in Tier 4 of the FA's Women's Football pyramid or above OR equivalent home nation league experience.

Have been part of a football academy at a club within FA Women’s Super League/ FA Women’s Championship level and received an academy scholarship until to U18.

Senior or age group international.

Athletics
Must meet one or more of the following criteria:

Will be assessed based on European U20 and U23 championship standards.

Must have competed at a national or international level.

All athlete personal best information must come from an official national governing body.

Cricket
Must have previous experience playing at or above a National U17's or U19's level.

Netball
Must meet one of the following criteria:

Home Nation Senior / Age Group International. Super League squad player.

NPL playing with 80% court time in the last 3 years.

Rugby League
Must meet one of the following criteria:

Previous regular playing experience, or competition experience to be assessed by coaching team.

Professional club academy experience.

Rugby Union
Must meet one of the following criteria:

Previous regular playing experience, or competition experience to be assessed by coaching team.

Professional club academy experience.

Tennis
Must meet at least one or more of the below criteria:

Has or has had an ATP/WTA ranking point(s) or shows regular competition at futures level , points must have been earned by winning and not a wild card granted entry to main draw

Has been ranked Top 500 Junior ITF.

Has been nationally ranked inside the Top 20 as a junior within a select number larger Tennis Federation countries.

Was at an NCAA Div 1/D2 University playing in the team regularly with a UTR of 11.8 or better . 10 or better for females.

Shows a history of developing as a player towards ITF futures /challenger level.

(3) Scholarship Name Dean's Undergraduate Scholarship
Scholarship amount - £6,000
The Dean's Scholarship is aimed at undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement. Successful candidates will receive a scholarship worth £6,000 per year.

To qualify for the Dean’s Scholarship, candidates must:

Apply for a full-time BA or BSc undergraduate course and receive an unconditional offer by the date noted in the eligibility criteria below.

Meet country-specific academic entry requirements.

Complete the online application form, which includes a video submission requirement.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part in an interview panel.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship discount you must:

Be assessed as having an ‘Overseas or EU’ residency status

Be assessed to pay the overseas fee

Be studying the relevant course full time

Be actively enrolled on an eligible course

Eligible individuals studying the following postgraduate courses will be able to receive the scholarship amount stated for their first year:

MBA Graduate Master of Business Administration - £1,500

MSc Management (Including pathways) - £1,500

MSc Construction Management - £2,000

MSc Data Science - £2,000

MSc Advanced Engineering Management - £2,000

MSc Advanced Computer Science - £2,000

MSc Information and Technology - £2,000

Eligible individuals studying postgraduate courses not mentioned above may be able to receive a scholarship of £3,000 for their first year.

Research Courses

Eligible individuals studying Research Courses will be able to receive a scholarship of £1,500 per year.

To be eligible for the scholarship discount you must:

Be assessed as having an 'Overseas or EU' residency status.

Be assessed to pay the overseas fee.

Be studying the relevant course full time.

Be actively enrolled on an eligible course.

(5) Scholarship Name LBU Global Award
The LBU Global Award is presented in partnership with our esteemed university partners Akal Overseas and BitTrack. We aim to reduce barriers to a UK education by providing comprehensive support to successful postgraduate applicants.

Recipients will receive a full tuition fee waiver for their chosen postgraduate course. The award will also cover university accommodation, and an additional monthly stipend of £500 to cover living expenses.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the LBU Global Award you must:

Be assessed as having an 'Overseas or EU' residency status.

Be assessed to pay the overseas fee.

Be studying the relevant course full time.

Be actively enrolled on an eligible course.
