  About the Institution
Tai Poutini Polytechnic (TPP), is on New Zealand’s West Coast and has campuses in Wanaka, Christchurch and Auckland. The provider specialises in providing training and education for the needs of the West Coast community and students. Today, the higher education facility has course options in around 20 different subject areas. These include Business, Cooking, Tourism and Hospitality, Carpentry, Automotive and Engineering.

Students will find all the necessary facilities and learning resources across the TPP campuses. The Greymouth campus has a large library, which has specialist books to support courses and programs. However, there are also smaller collections at the Westport and Wanaka campuses. Printing services for business needs and CVs are accessible via the provider’s library locations.

Students at the Greymouth campus can also use the Dash-in café. This is used as a place to socialise and affordable drinks and food are available each day.

  Location
On its main West Coast campuses, Tai Poutini Polytechnic is near many outdoor spots that cater for activities like tramping, kayaking, skiing and mountaineering. In addition, students can join local clubs that run regular events and activities. The Paparoa National Park is also close by. Here students can find further activities such as, walking, fishing, surfing, caving, and mountain climbing.

However, students can explore more of New Zealand’s big cities and urban areas from Greymouth. Regular shuttle buses run from Greymouth to transport people to Invercargill, Gisborne or Northland within three hours.

  Student Life

Due to its supportive and inclusive approach, TPP offers a range of helpful services for students. These include learning support, counselling and welfare guidance and specialist career advice.

Tai Poutini Polytechnic students can live near the Greymouth campus at the Tai Poutini Village Here, there are 58 individual rooms and shared facilities for students.
