  About the Institution
Texas A&M Corpus Christi is a public research university offering more than 80 degree programs in a range of fields. The University is situated in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Ward Island in the United States, near the Gulf of Mexico.

TAMU-CC was established in 1947 as the University of Corpus Christi and became part of the Texas A&M University System in 1989. It is a member of the Texas A&M University System, with around 6000 international students from over 40 states and 55 countries coming to study at the University every year.

The Mary & Jeff Bell Library is the main library on campus for students to find a quiet place to study, a media center and the right resources for their course. The institutes at the University are designed to empower students in their respective fields. The Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science includes research labs, classrooms, and a surveying field lab. The Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies is dedicated to researching and preserving the Gulf of Mexico ecosystem. It contains a state-of-the-art research vessel and laboratories for studying marine life and the environment. Many studies are drawn to the University because of its first-rate facilities.

The Performing Arts Center includes a 645-seat main stage theater and a 175-seat black box theater to host various performances. The Islander Athletic Complex features a 2,500-seat arena, weight room, and training facilities.

  Location
Ward Island is perfect for students who love the great outdoors. The weather is mostly sunny, and the waves are crystal blue, so whether students are windsurfing, kayaking, or simply observing the waters, they are in close proximity to nature. Fresh seafood is available so students can develop a taste for different kinds of seafood, and the USS Lexington is an iconic landmark students have to visit. Tex Mex is traditional American cuisine students might like to try while studying at the University too.

  Student Life
TAM-CC has one of the most diverse campuses in the whole of the Texas A&M University system. There are over 150 student clubs and organizations to browse for your tribe. Leadership conferences and film screenings occur on campus throughout the year, while the campus activities board facilitates even more campus events so students can enjoy spontaneity alongside tradition. Anchor Camp is one of the University's traditions explicitly designed to help first-year students ingratiate themselves in campus life and become ‘Islanders’. Students can join fraternities or sororities and have the chance to participate in the student volunteer connection organization.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) provides on-campus housing in the form of apartments and residence halls suitable for a range of students. Momentum Village and Sandpiper Village offer apartment-style living with fully furnished rooms, various facilities and recreational areas. The same amenities are available in more traditional dormitories: Centennial Hall and Miramar Hall.

Some students choose to live in the nearby areas while staying in close proximity to the TAMU-CC campus in several apartment complexes such as Campus Quarters, Camden Copper Ridge, and Islander Village. Islander Housing is an online database provided on the TAMU-CC website for students to search for appropriate housing options.
