Diablo Valley College was founded in 1949 and stands today as one of three publicly supported two-year community colleges in the Contra Costa Community College District. The college has multiple campuses for students to choose from, depending on their preferred location.

The Pleasant Hill Campus is the primary campus of Diablo Valley College, situated in Pleasant Hill, California. The San Ramon Campus is a satellite campus of Diablo Valley College located in San Ramon, California. Approximately 543 international students from 58 countries take courses at the college each year.

Both college campuses have modern classrooms, computer labs, science laboratories, and specialised facilities for numerous fields of study.   Location
California is one of the most well-known areas in the USA. The laid-back lifestyle and sunshine are more than stereotypes, even for international students. The Suburban San Francisco Bay Area location is 50 km from San Francisco, and there is an on-campus bus service to Bay Area Rapid Transit commuter trains.

Students can also get involved with community service to boost their volunteering profile, leadership development programmes and the student government.

Diablo Valley College does not provide on-campus housing as it is a commuter college. Resources and support are provided so students can find suitable off-campus accommodation.
